Egg-stra Fabulous Easter Wreath

We all know that wreaths have been very popular this year. There are all kinds for each season and holiday. I love the look of the yarn wrapped wreaths with the fabric flowers! Simple, but oh so great. Well this is my first wreath. I didn't have any yarn, so I used what I had. I only had to buy the eggs (Half off at the Lobby for Hobbies), and I got a green floral foam circle from the $Store.

Items Used:
Green floral circle
Ribbon (I realized the wider the ribbon, the better it worked)
Easter eggs
glue gun
Yarn (carrots)
Cardstock (carrots)

I used my ribbon and wrapped the circle completely. I used just a dab of glue to complete it. I also left a good 6 inches to I could just use that to hang the wreath.

I was paranoid, so I glue each egg shut, before I glue it onto the wreath. I am not sure if that is necessary, but I didn't want to have to worry have eggs falling off.

I used the mini Easter eggs, and alternated the way they went on. I got to the end and had a hole. If I added another egg, it would have left a weird smaller hole, so I wasn't sure what to do. I then came across these fabulos yarn carrots at Carolyn's Homework. Looked simple enough, and would totally solve my weird hole. So I went and bought yarn.

As you can see, my carrots are not as pretty, but it is really not as simple as it looks!!

Sock Bunnies

I saw this on Red Ted Art's Blog and HAD to make one. Of course one, wasn't enough so I made another!

This was super easy. The hardest part was deciding which buttons to use for eyes!

I didn't take pictures while I was doing it, so check out Red Ted's tutorial

I used buttons for the eyes and nose instead of felt. I also added a bow, so you can distinguish which is which. I bought the socks at Target on clearance, and had everything else, so it was super cheap.

The possibilities are endless which all the different sock patterns!

I am now looking for more sockimals to make. Any idea?

I have been doing some fun crafty things lately, but I never get a chance to blog!

I have done a couple sock bunnies, an egg wreath, yarn carrots!! Wow, reading that, I am proud of myself!! I also had a baking day with my wonderful SIL. We made 3 different kinds of cupcakes. More to come of that, because I also want to show pictures!!

Well why not take a look at some of the blogs/ladies who inspired me to craft!
Wonderful site. Wondnerful ladies. Tons of ideas. My favorite part of their site are the 2x4 ideas. My parents recently started building a new house, and I have been sneaking pieces of scrap wood! I can't wait to make something from it. I love the birthday sign!

Infarrantly Creative
Can't talk enough about this site. Beckie is very resourceful, and has ideas that I probably never would think of. My favorite thing abotu this site are the Roadkill Rescues! She has redone some amazing furniture pieces.

Tip Junkie
Amazing site! Tons of great ideas. Laurie's site is constantly changing with new ideas, always something new. Love it!

There are a TON of great blogs out there, and I follow a lot of them, but these are my Top 3!

What blogs do you follow?

Furniture Re-Do

I have always wanted to do something like this. Take a piece of "ugly" furniture and make it pretty and usable. My daughter fell in love with this table, and since it doesn't take up a lot of space, I figured why not let her have it. Okay Okay. I really wanted to re-do it. Try out some new skills! I am pretty happy with how it turned out. A good cleaning, Green Apple spray paint, vinyl (I got to use my Silhouette!!), and a coat of clear! She loves it!! Now I am addicted. I want more funiture to play with. Next... my coffee/living room table.

Before: Sorry Bluebird couldn't leave it alone!!

If anyone has any tips for spray painting round objects, please let me know! I struggled, and a few of the legs have "drips" on them.

Do you like fixin' up old things?
